Dental implants are a lifeline for your smile.

They address tooth loss in the most natural way possible, replacing the entirety of a tooth root and restoring the function and aesthetic of your smile, too.

A match made in heaven for your mouth

The dental implant process is completely tailored to you.

During your initial consultation, we will have an informal chat with you to gauge your expectations of treatment and to make sure you are suitable for treatment. Our dentists value transparency with patients, so we will also be completely honest about any possible limitations of treatment.

Your implant will be designed to fit your smile seamlessly. Once the implant is fully integrated within the jaw following surgery, a bespoke crown is placed over the top, functioning just like a natural tooth.

We use the latest digital imaging software to generate a pinpoint-accurate 3D render of your mouth, which tells your dentist everything they need to know to create an implant that looks and feels 100% right for you.

As well as single implant placement, we can offer ‘teeth in a day’, which is the removal of failing teeth, followed by implant placement – a temporary crown is then fitted on the same day, so you won’t have to go without teeth during the healing stages of treatment that follow the surgery.

A smile you will never tire of wearing

The detailed level of planning and craftsmanship that goes into our implant cases matches the discerning expectations of our patients, and we don’t think it should be any other way.

Your implant is a biocompatible entity that sits in your jaw as if it were a real tooth – all the more reason for us to make sure you can wear it with great pride and get the most out of everyday functions like chewing, talking and smiling.

FAQs

Why dental implants?

  • The most tooth-like solution available for missing teeth.
  • They prevent bone loss in the jaw.
  • Enjoy foods of all textures without hassle.
  • Fixed in the jaw (just like real teeth).
  • A ceramic or porcelain crown is placed to give you a natural-looking tooth.
  • Lasts for 20+ years. *When maintained by attending regular dentist check-ups and hygienist cleanings, this will help avoid gum disease (implants can cause gum disease in the same way natural teeth do).

What is a dental implant?

A dental implant is a titanium replacement tooth root. It is placed into the jaw under local anaesthetic. Once the implant is placed, the bone in the jaw grows around the implant, just like it would if a genuine new tooth root were being placed into the jaw. It’s this nature-mimicking fusion that makes implants the gold standard in tooth replacement.

I’m nervous about the surgery – do you offer sedation?

Yes. We offer intravenous (conscious) sedation for patients who feel nervous about their implant surgery.

IV sedation is a powerful relaxant that induces feelings of well-being, and for many patients, it also has amnesic effects.

Whilst implant surgery is performed under local anaesthetic (so you won’t experience discomfort), we recommend sedation if you feel the surgery is a huge barrier to entry for accessing tooth replacement treatment (it’s a hugely worthwhile investment in your dental health and emotional health).

Am I suitable for a dental implant?

Adults of all ages can be eligible for implant-based tooth replacement treatments. However, you must have enough healthy bone in the jaw at the site where the implant will be placed. Without this, the implant surgery is likely to fail.

Don’t worry, though, as this isn’t the end of your implant journey. We can carry out a bone regeneration procedure to build the essential healthy bone needed.

We use Bicon, renowned as the world’s best short implant system, allowing us to carry out implants without bone regeneration in 99% of cases.

How long does a dental implant last?

Implants can last for a lifetime with good oral hygiene care and a healthy diet. Despite not being genuine tooth roots, they can still fall foul of an implant form of gum disease (peri-implantitis), so looking after them is essential.

The crown placed over the top of your implant will need to be replaced after 10-15 years (this varies from patient to patient depending on a range of factors).
